In the video below you can see a Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione revving and spitting some flames from the exhaust. The video was taken at the Top Gear cup at the Modena racetrack.

Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 spotted

In the pictures below you can see a wonderful Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 that I spotted around my town. This is the second series, built from 1965 to 1967 in 474 examples. The engine was a 4.0-liter V12 60° front-mounted, the power delivered by the engine was 300 hp at 6600 rpm. The maximum speed reached by the vehicle was 245 km/h.

JCM @ Autodromo di Modena

Yesterday the Japanese cars meeting, a gathering of Japanese cars, took place at the Autodromo di Modena. The car arrived a bit 'all over Italy were certainly more than a hundred! The show was guaranteed. In addition to the static gathering, where you could see the cars parked in the paddock, the track was open to run and do battle! I could taste the curves of the track as passenger aboard a fantastic Mazda MX-5, for which I thank very much the owner! Ford Focus ST: start up, revs and launches (video)

I filmed this awesome Ford Focus ST at the Modena racetrack during a safe-driving course. In the video you can see the details of the car, then the start up and some revs. Later, the driver brings the guys who participated at the course for an hot lap on the track! This car is just insane, listen to the brutal sound during the full throttle acceleration. This Focus is fitted with aftermarket exhaust.

2014 BMW X5 xDrive 30d

Last night I went to the dealer presentation of the new BMW X5. Here you can see the photos of the X5 xDrive 30d, one of the engines available at launch together with the 5.0 V8 petrol xDrive 50i 450 hp and the 3.0 turbodiesel 381 hp and 740 Nm of the M50d xDrive. The engine of the 30d is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder with TwinPower Turbo technology, which delivers 258 hp at 4,000 rpm and 560 Nm from 1,500 to 3,000 rpm. The X5 xDrive 3.0d accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and it reaches a top speed of 230 km/h. The 2014 Bmw X5 comes standard with the 8-speed automatic transmission with Launch Control function. Initially the car will be available in a single trim with three levels of customization: Business, Experience and Luxury. On all of these, 18-inch alloy wheels, electric tailgate, cruise control, touch screen 6.5-inch iDrive system, Bluetooth connectivity, audio system with USB input, leather sport steering wheel and Stat&Stop system are standard. At a later time other engines will debut: the 306 hp xDrive35i , the 313 hp xDrive40d and xDrive and sDrive 25d equipped with 218 hp 4-cylinder diesel engine.

+200 HP Fiat 500 with Suzuki Hayabusa Gsx-R1300 engine (video)

I filmed this Fiat 500 with Suzuki Hayabusa Gsx-R1300 engine at the Modena racetrack. In the video you can see the details of the car, then the start up of the engine and some driving scenes on the track. Listen to the pure sound: the beer can on the exhaust pipe works as a silencer! The engine of the motorbyke is modified, so it produces more than 200 hp! Watch the video below.

Ford Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost 80 cv

Mostardino.it interviewed Luca Luppi, the winner of the contest Fiesta 24 ore, after two months and 5000 km from the delivery of the Ford Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost received as prize for two years. In the video, filmed by me, in addition to the first impressions of Luca, you can see the details inside and outside the car.

Ferrari 458 Speciale at the Ferrari Museum

My father went to the Ferrari Museum in Maranello some days ago and this is what he found there...The new Ferrari 458 Speciale! The quality of the images is not very good, but you can appreciate the car! The Ferrari 458 Speciale features a 4.5-liter V8 with 605 hp at 9000 rpm and 540 Nm at 6000 rpm; it has a specific power of 135 hp/liter. The weight/power ratio is 2,13 kg/hp, so the 458 Speciale can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds and from 0 to 200 in 9,1 seconds. It lapped the Fiorano track in 1’23”5. The car has been lightened (it weights 1290 kg) and it is equipped with active aerodynamics and SSC (Side Slip angle Control).

Porsche 356 1600 spotted

The Porsche 356 was produced from 1948 to 1966 and it can be considered the first production model of the Stuttgart house. The cars could be coupe, convertible, Speedster, Karmann hardtop coupe and roadster. The engine, originally a 1.1 liter, then brought in different versions to 1.2 - 1.3 - 1.6 and 2.0 liters, had a range of outputs that ranged from 40 hp of the first versions to over 110 hp of Carrera versions and it was derived from the Volkswagen engine that powered the Volkswagen Beetle. The architecture of the car was derived from the latter, however, also designed by Ferdinand Porsche: rear engine, air-cooled and rear-wheel drive. The 356 boasts outstanding levels of handling, lightness, reliability and road-holding and it is the anticipation of the Porsche 911.

Jaguar E-Type spotted

I have photographed this wonderful example of Jaguar E-Type at the Lido degli Estensi.

The Jaguar E-Type, also known as XKE, was produced from 1961 to 1975 and it was a revolutionary car regarding the design, the driving characteristics and aesthetics. The model was built in three different series that are designated as Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3. In the photos below you can see an example of the second series, produced since 1965, which is equipped with the 4.2 liter Jaguar engine.

Renault Clio V6 Phase 1

I photographed this awesome Renault Clio V6 at the Modena racetrack during an open date. Unfortunately I have no videos of this monster on the track, but only pictures of it parked in the paddock.
The Renault Clio V6 Renault Sport is a hot hatch based on the Renault Clio Mk II launched in 2001 and it recalls the 1980s Renault 5 Turbo. The 3.0-liter 60º V6 engine delivers 230 hp and it is placed in the middle of the car in place of the rear seats and it is rear-wheel drive. The structural change has increased the weight of 300 kg compared to the less powerful sport version 172 Cup. The performance doesn't vary much from the latter: acceleration 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and top speed of 200 km/h.

1° Marzaglia Treffen gathering (video)

The 13th October 2013 was held at the Modena racetrack the 1st Marzaglia Treffen, a car meeting of the Audi-Volkswagen group, which refers to the famous VAG Treffen in Worthersee. In addition to the photos that you can find below, I posted the video made ​​by me with the interview to the organizer of the gathering and some images of the cars exhibition. In the video you can also see the parade of cars on the track. Want to know the most important cars that you can see here? To name a few: Scirocco R, Golf R, Golf GTI, Polo GTI, some Corrado, Caddy, Audi A5, RS3, S3 and also two Skoda Octavia. 

EXCLUSIVE! Ferrari LaFerrari engine on the dyno: pure sound (video)

I filmed the engine of the new hypercar Ferrari LaFerrari on the dyno. You can listen to the pure sound of the engine, to the revs and the full throttle acceleration to the limiter! This is the very first video that show something like this!

The V12 naturally aspirated engine of 65° 6.3-liter delivers 800 hp at 9250 rpm, the HY-KERS system with an additional 163 hp produced by the electric motor, brings the total output to 963 hp and maximum total torque to over 900 Nm. Watch the video below!

Queens of rallies: Ford Sierra RS Cosworth start up and powerslide on the track! (video + photos)

I filmed this Ford Sierra RS Cosworth at the Modena racetrack, during an exhibition of rally cars: the queens of rallies. Unfortunatly the weather was bad, so just few cars arrived to the track. In the video you can see the details of the car, then the start up of the engine and some laps on the track. The tarmac was impraticable, so the Sierra goes sideways every corner, you can see powerslide, small drifting and fly bys and acceleration on the straight. Look closely and you will see also some flames from the exhaust! On the track there is also a BMW M3 E36, that races with the Cosworth. 

I also photographed some cars exposed on the paddock: a Mitsubishi Lancer, a Subaru Impreza, a Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione and a Nissan GT-R. Video and photos below!

Landini sputa fiammate poi fonde - Landini spitting flames then breaks the engine

In the video you can see a Landini L55-60 during a night plowing in Casalgrande. The tractor starts to spit flames, you can see the engine head and the exhaust pipe incandescent, then the engine melts. At the end they succeed to restart the engine, after putting water into the radiator! Video and images below

BMW 4-Series Coupe: 420d M Sport

I posted the pictures I took at the presentation of last Sunday of the new BMW 4 Series Coupe. The model you see is the pictures is the 420d MSport, which compared to other 420d is recognizable by some aesthetic details. The Bavarian four-seater weighs 1525 kg and it is powered by the 2.0-liter diesel engine with 184 hp and 380 Nm at 1,750 rpm. The traction is rear-wheel drive, while the transmission is via a six-speed manual transmission (optional the eight-speed automatic). The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is in 7.5 seconds (7.3 with the automatic), while the maximum speed is 240 km/h.

Landini aratura in notturna - Landini plowing by night

I filmed this group plowing in Casalgrande near Reggio Emilia. In the video you can see some antique Landinis making some show. Among the tractors you can find a SuperLandini SL/8, L45-50 and L55-60. It was very hard to plow the ground, so some Landinis do wheelies, spit flames and make some revs. Listen to the characteristic engine sound of these piece of Italian history known as Landini Testacalda for its start up process. Caterham CDX on board drifting (video)

I fimed this Caterham CDX doing some drift during the TopGear Cup at the Autodromo di Modena. The car is owned by Udrive, that was there to advertise its drive courses. After some scenes filmed from the outside where you can see powerslides and donuts, you can see me on boar the Caterham, driven by a professional driver.
